Happy Weekends
Feb 18 (Sat)
On that day, I
spent all day with my host family.
In the morning, we went to a grocery store and a pet store. I was
happy because there were many different kinds of animals to see in the pet store.
In the afternoon we went to a shopping mall. Alexis and I got on the
merry-go-round in the shopping mall. I'm 19 years old, so I felt a little embarrassed.
We also enjoyed playing miniature golf.
It was an exciting game for me.
After dinner, we went to the movies. To my surprise, I was able to
watch a
movie for only 2 dollars. In Japan, we
have to pay about 15 dollars for a movie, so I was so surprised. We watched "The Adventures of Tintin." At
first, I couldn't understand English, but the story was really interesting. I
laughed a lot. I liked the movie.
Feb 19 (Sun)
In the morning, I went to
church with my host family for the first time. Many people were
talking about something difficult, so I couldn't understand it. But many people
talked to me, so I was happy.
In the afternoon, we took a walk with Mason
and Kyra. I enjoyed walking them. After we came home, my
host mother and I made an apple pie and a blueberry
pie. My host mother kindly taught me how to make a pie.

Feb 25 (Sat)
In the afternoon, I went to
Zoo and Aquarium with my host family. There were many
unfamiliar animals for us Japanese there.
In the evening, I went to a buffet
restaurant with my host family and Alexis's family. I enjoyed
many
different kinds of food.

Feb 26 (Sun)
In the
morning, I went to church with
my host family.
In the afternoon, I went out with Natsumi
and her host family. First, we went to
an ice cream shop called the Cold Stone Creamery. I had an ice cream called "Berry Berry Berry Good." It was
a really delicious ice cream. I loved it! Second,
we got on a big ferry to go to
Seattle with the car of Natsumi's family. It was really exciting. Third, we had
delicious seafood for lunch. I hadn't liked clams before, but I enjoyed the
clams there, and they were really good! I was so happy. Finally, we enjoyed shopping. There
were some stores to buy souvenirs.
