Welcome Party We took Denise's class for the first time that day. We learned phrases used in everyday conversation. We took a lesson about the safety in America too. After the class, we went shopping at a chocolate shop and a mall. When we visited the chocolate shop, we tasted a sample. The chocolate was very delicious. As a part of our first class, we went to a shopping mall near the study center, and we looked for differences from Japanese stores. After that, we returned to the study center, and we talked about the differences. In the evening we had Welcome Party and ate delicious dinner. There were apple pie, salad, bread, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti, brownie and so on. The dinner was brought to the study center by each family. It was a potluck dinner style. The meal was very delicious. |

Around
noon, we went to
a local shopping mall,
and had lunch. I ate hamburger, and it was so
big that I couldn't finish all of them. After that we
enjoyed shopping too. I bought
a sweat shirt. Things are cheaper in American
stores than in Japanese stores. We had a good
time. |

After I came back from the study center, I went to the club house to play bingo. Bingo's rules were a little difficult. Pat told me how to play bingo. Many people got bingo. When I noticed, all the people around me had had a bingo. I was still very excited and enjoyed bingo anyway. |
