With My Host Family

February 18 (Sat)

I cooked crepe with Tana.  Tana taught me how to cook crepe, but I could not make it very well.  In the afternoon, I went to a grocery shop with Mike and Kara.  I was surprised that American vegetables were a lot different from Japanese ones in size.  For example, cucumbers were fat, and carrots were thin in America.
At dinner, I ate Mexican food.  I ate Tacos for the first time, and it was very delicious.  After that, we played UNO.  I didn't know how to play UNO very well, so Kara taught me how to play it.

February 19 (Sun)

We went to a zoo.  I like animals, so I was very happy.  I saw many animals, and I particularly liked a red wolf.  I saw it for the first time, and I got excited.  I also touched a goat.  Its coat was hard, and I was surprised.  Next, we went to an aquarium.  We saw clownfish, and Kara and I called it "Nimo."  When we saw a dugong, it was sleeping and snoring loudly.  It was very funny.

February 26 (Sun)

We went to Downtown Seattle.  I saw Safeco Field when we were traveling by car.  We ate fried fish for lunch in a fish bar.  It was a little fat, but it was very delicious.  Next, we went to Pike Place Market.  We looked around various shops.  When we went to a book shop, an employee spoke to us in Japanese.  He could speak Japanese a little.  Next, we went to a gum wall.  The wall was covered with old gum.  I took some pictures and put my own gum on the wall.
I made Oyako-Don and Niku-Jyaga for dinner.  I felt my Niku-Jyaga was spicy, so I should have made it sweeter.

March 3 (Sat), March 4 (Sun)

We camped out.  I got excited when I rode a camping car and went out for camping.  I went to the riverside with Debra and Tana when Mike was making a camp fire.  The river was huge and with clear water,  and we collected some stones and threw them away into the river.  When we returned to the camping car,  there was a camp fire.  It was very hot, and I sat down near the fire for a while.
I ate boiled shrimp, tuna and Miso soup for dinner.  I had Miso soup after a long time, and I was happy.  After dinner, Mike made us "Smore."  It was very soft and sweet.  If I return to America, I want to eat it again.
