Laura's Classes

Teacher Guide
Laura

Laura is cheerful and funny.  I enjoyed her classes.  She taught us a lot of important things.  Her smile is really nice, so I love her smile.

Feb. 15th (Fri)

We took Laura's class for the first time.  Laura first taught us some rules for homestaying.  We then went to a local shopping mall and  we enjoyed looking around many stores and shopping.
In the evening, we had a welcome party.  When we went to the study center, I met Tiara for the first time.  I was surprised because she was pregnant, really beautiful and cute.  After we played a game, we ate special dishes which every host family brought for us.

Feb. 18th (Mon)

We visited a fire station .  We asked firefighthers some questions about American fire stations.  We wore a firefighting suit and had a water shooting practice.  The firefighters were cool.
After I came home, I went to Mayleen's school with Joseph, Mayleen and Ian.  We  played tag, catch and so on.  We had fun.

Feb. 21st (Thur)

We went to Leavenworth.  It took about three hours to go there from the study center.  There were many cute shops in the village, and we took many pictures there.  We went to a restaurant for lunch and enjoyed German cuisine.

Feb. 25th (Mon)

We learned about American holiday activities.   Everyone wore cute costume.   I turned into a cotton candy witch.  Laura and Mary gave us a lot of cute candies.  We ate special dishes of Thanksgiving for lunch, and it was delicious.  I liked apple pie and sweet potato.

Feb. 26th (Tue)

We visited an elementary school.   We taught many children how to count from one to ten in Japanese and how to write their names in Katakana.  After that, we ate lunch with the children and later played with many children.  We enjoyed swings, jump ropes and so on.  The  children gave me a hug before we came home.  The children were really energetic, friendly and cute.  I really enjoyed the visit.

Feb. 28th (Thu)

We went to Seattle for sightseeing.   Before we went to downtown Seattle, we went to the University of Washinton.  The campus was so huge and beautiful.  After that, we went to Space Needle, Pike Place Market, the first Starbacks store, Safeco Field and so on.  We met a TV reporter, Jesse, at Pike Place Market, and we appeared on a TV news show.  I really enjoyed shopping the whole day.

Mar. 4th (Mon)

During the morning, we practiced our presentation for our Sayonara party many times.  In the
evening, the party started, and we gave our presentation about "Hot Springs in Japan."  I was nervous, but our presentation was a success.  After that, we sang "Happy Birthday" to Mayleen, Mika's host brother and Mami's host mother for their birthday.
