Great Experience

In the morning, we started learning English at the study center with our teacher guide Laura and Kara, who had hosted Seiryo students before. After that, we went shopping. I was very surprised because everything in America was bigger than that in Japan.
Jane picked me up at the study center with Carter after class. I got so excited because Cater was so cute. I enjoyed playing video games and fighting with a Japanese toy sword with Carter. After that, we went to the welcome party. I enjoyed eating American food and talking with other host families. I spent a great time.

We learned how to pay and count American money, but it was too difficult for me. After class, we went to the fire station. We put on a fire fighting suit, sprayed water and got on an ambulance. It was a great experience.
In the evening, Jane taught me how to pay money, so I got it. Thank you for teaching, Jane.

We went shopping all day. We went to a doughnut shop first. We ate many kinds of doughnuts. They were so sweet, but I liked them. After that, we went to Tacoma Mall. I bought some hand cream, a big T-shirt of “No Face” and a cute watch.
In the evening, we ate in a restaurant with Daryl's co-workers. I didn't understand what they were talking about at first, but I enjoyed talking with them when they talked to me slowly. I was surprised that American people didn't eat more than me.

We went to Green River College. The campus was very large and clean. After that, we visited a nursing home for elderly people. I was surprised that the place was a lot bigger than that in Japan. It looked like a hotel! The elder people were kind, so I enjoyed talking with them.

We visited an elementary school and taught children how to count from one to ten in Japanese. After that, we also taught them how to write their names in Katakana.
We enjoyed playing with children during the break time too. They were full of energy and came running after me. I had a very fun time, but I got really tired.

In the afternoon, we went bowling with Chie's, Kanako's and Moe's host families. Laura seriously taught us how to bowl. When I got a strike, I did a high-five with my friends. It was very fun, but it was a little bit difficult for me to bowl well.

We kept working on our memory journal and photo frame. After that, we took our snap shot too. I'm not good at making something, so it was so hard, but I tried my best to make my host family happy with those gifts.
3/2 (Wed)
In the morning, we talked with Laura about American life. In the afternoon, after we prepared for our presentation, we went for our last shopping. Chie and I bought the same clothes. After shopping, we ate some big pizza. It was so good. I especially liked Hawaiian pizza.
After that, we wore Yukata and made our presentation. I was very nervous, but our host family watched our presentation kindly, so I enjoyed doing it. Finally, Laura gave us a present. Then, I felt very sad because I felt that our homestay program was really getting over.
