Thank You Very Much!

Dear Laura,

Hello, how are you doing? I was a little nervous at first because this homestay program was my first trip abroad. You were so powerful, kind, smiling and funny, which made me smile all the time.

You taught us about English pronunciation, conversation, songs, American culture and so on. I learned a lot of things from your classes. My favorite class was the one for American holiday activities. We celebrated 3 kinds of American holidays that day, and we ate a lot of delicious dishes.

You said to us, “You can do it.” When I heard the words, I felt that I could do anything. If I feel sad, I will remember your words “You can do it.” Thank you for sending special words to us.

Thank you very much, Laura!

Dear the Sawyers,

Hello, how are you doing? Thank you for hosting me for three weeks. I spent a great time with you. I will never forget the memories with you.

Glenn, thank you for showing me a lot of pictures. I enjoyed the stories about your nice trips, your job and your family. I liked the pictures that you took at a glass museum in your room. They were colorful and shining. The pictures and the poster that you gave me are my treasure. If I see you again, I would like to hear your cruising trip. I enjoyed watching movies with you too. I liked “Inside Out” and “ How to Train Your Dragon.”

Mary, thank you for caring about me. You always cared about me and asked me about class, so I enjoyed school without worries. I liked cooking with you too. I learned how to cook Daviled Egg. The other girls liked Daviled Egg too, and I was happy when I heard that. I also liked going shopping with you. I hadn't gone to Costco before, and I found a lot of American things like cake, meat, huge milk, a lot kinds of bread, and so on.

Duane, thank you for cooking dinner for us. It was so delicious. I especially like your lasagna. I couldn't believe that you just watched the recipe and cooked one. If I visit Seattle again, I would like to eat your lasagna again.

David, thank you for coming to our Sayonara party. I thought that you probably coudln't come to the party, so I was very, very happy. I enjoyed talking with you about movies, hobbies, my major in college and so on. I was happy when you asked me those questions.

I'm looking forward to meeting you again! I want to have dinner, go shopping, watch movies and TV programs and listen to music with you again. Thank you very much.
