Laura is our teacher guide. She is kind and funny. We enjoyed learning English and American cultures from her.


2/13 (Mon)

 In the morning, we started learning English at the study center with our teacher guide Laura. After that, we went shopping.

 In the evening, we had the welcome party at the study center. We enjoyed eating American food and talking with other host families.

 




2/14 (Tue)

 Ater having lunch, we visited the fire department. All firefighters were kind and cool. We learned about their work and we asked them some questions.

 In the evening, Ben told me about his hobby, diving. After that, we watched the movie "Fiding Dory."

 




2/15 (Wed)

 We visited Green River College. The campus was very large and clean. We met Hijiri and Nao, who were studying there from our college. Next, we went to Tacoma Mall and enjoyed shopping.

 In the evening, I went to Costco with Gwen and Nana. The Costco in America was basically the same as the one in Japan.

 





2/16 (Thur)

 We went to Leavenworth without Misaki and Akina, because they went to a museum with their families. Leavenworth had many kinds of stores in the German style. The stores were very cute.

 In the evening, Miyu and Kana came to my host family's house. We watched the movie "Pirates of the Carribbean" together.





2/17 (Fri)

 In the morning, we learned about American money. After that, we visited the police department, the courthouse and the City Hall. First, we visited the courthouse. I didn't really understand what the judge said because he often used difficult words and spoke fast. Next, we visited the police department. I was surprised that a police car had many different sirens. Finally, we visited the City Hall, and we got pin badges from the city staff.

 



2/20 (Mon)

 I went to outlet stores with Hannah, Gwen, and Gwen's friend. I enjoyed shopping. American clothes had reasonable prices.

 In the evening, I went bowling with Gwen and Laura. Laura was really good at bowling.

 

2/21 (Tue)

 In the morning, we learned about American holidays. We taught Laura about Doll's Day in Japan in return. After that, we ate some holiday meals. They were very delicious. We then put on a costume for Halloween. Gwen lent me a costume of Harry Potter. It was very fun.

 In the evening, I made rice omelet and teriyaki meatballs for my host family. They said to me, "It was delicious." I felt happy to hear that. After that, Gwen and I enjoyed a jisaw puzzle.





2/22 (Wed)

 We visited an elementary school all day. We taught children how to say colors in Japanese and how to write their names in katakana. After having lunch, we enjoyed playing with the children. I got tired because Amaican children were very active, but I had a good time.

  In the evening, I went to Glassball Museum with Gwen, Miyu, and Kana. I was happy that Gwen bought me some glassballs.






2/23 (Thur

 We went sightseeing in Seattle. We went to Space Needle, Pike Place Market, University of Washington and so on. Pike Place Market had a lot of stores, and I bought many kinds of souvenirs for my family and friends. It was a fun day.

 In the evening, I went to a restaurant of pasta with Gwen, Nana, and Grandma. The meal was delicious.





2/24 (Fri

 In the morning, we made chocolate crackers. After that, we each made a photo frame for our host families. In the afternoon, we went bowling, and it was fun. Akina's bowling style was funny.

 In the evening, I went to Costco with Gwen and Nana. I felt American Costco was about the same as Japanese one.




2/27 (Mon

 In the morning, we continued making the photo frame and the memory jounal for our host families.

 In the evening, I went bowling with Gwen, Nana, and Grandma.




2/28 (Tue

 We made the jounal all day.

 In the evening, I watched the movie "Jumanji." It was interesting, and I liked it.


3/1 (Wed

 In the morning, we finished our jounals. In the afternoon, we prepared for our presentation for Sayonara Party. After that, we went shopping, and I bought a lot of souvenirs.

 At the Sayonara Party, we succeeded in our presentation. After that, we enjoyed talking with each other and eating some cake. I had a good time.

 In the evening, I talked a lot with the Barry family. I felt sad because I had to go back to Japan the next day.
