2/13 (Mon)
We first gave gits to Laura some gifts in the morning. We were nervous in class, but we started to talk little by little. We learned how to protect ourselves in America. We went shopping near the study center in the afternoon. At the welcome party in the evening, we enjoyed eating delicious meals and talking with many families.
After the party, I enjoyed watching a movie with my host family ay home. We watched “Enchanted.” I had watched it in Japan, so I mostly understood the story.

2/14 (Tue)
We practiced some pronunciation. It was difficult for me to say “would.” In the afternoon, we went to the fire department and met female firefighters. We wore a firefighting suit, and experienced spraying water at a target. I tried it for the first time, and it was a good experience. We asked firefighters some questions that we thought. The people at the fire department were all kind.
At night, a girl that I met at church came to my host family's house. She was very cute. And we enjoyed making origami together. I taught her how to make a crane with origami. It was hard for me to teach.

2/15 (Wed)
We went to Green River College. The campus was so big and the buildings were very beautiful. We met Nao and Hijiri, our friends from Seiryo who were studying there. After we left the college, we went to eat some doughnuts. The doughnuts were sweet. We next went to a mall and enjoyed various meals at the food court. I liked a Chinese food. And then, we enjoyed shopping. We got a good picture.
At night, I made chirashizushi for my family. I later enjoyed playing Yahtzee with my family. It was a little difficult for me, though.

2/16 (Thu)
We went to Leavenworth. It was sunny but cold that day. It was a long way to get to the town, so I talked a lot with my friends on the way. We ate German food for lunch and it was the first time for me. We enjoyed shopping and taking pictures in town, and I got many souvenirs. We had a great time.
At night, my host family and I went to a fastfood restaurant with the girls who went to the same church. They were very cute. We ate icecream, and it was delicious.

2/17 (Fri)
We practiced how to count coins with Laura. Kara, who used to be a host sister of former students from Seiryo, came and joined our class. In the afternoon, we went to the police department, the law court and the City Hall. We asked questions that we had prepared in Japan. We wore a judge's robe at the law court. We had a good experience.
At night, my host family and I went to a frozen yogurt store. The sotre was busy even at night. I liked a frozen yogurt.

2/20 (Mon)
It was a national holiday that day. We practiced explaining how to cook Japanese food such as niku-jaga. After class, we went to a home for the elderly. The building was like a hotel or a restaurant. We sang Japanese songs for the elderly people. We talked with an elderly lady who was Japanese American.

2/21 (Tue)
It was the day for American holiday activities. We wore a costume of Halloween. Everyone's costume was cool. We hunted candies instead of eggs for Easter and ate Thanksgiving dishes for lunch. I was surprised that the turkey was very big. After that, we practiced the presentation for our elementary school visit.

2/22 (Wed)
We went to an elemental school, and we taught children how to say colors in Japanese. I was nervous at the beginning, but it was fun. The Children asked us a lot of questions and we answered them with the help of Laura. We wrote children's name in Japanese too. We also ate lunch with the children. The children were very cheerful.
At night, I cooked udon for my host family. They looked happy. They liked udon.

2/23 (Thu)
It was the day for our Seattle trip. We went to University of Washington, Freemont Troll, a chocolate factory, Space Needle, the first store of Starbucks Coffee, Pike Place Market, Safeco Field and a Japanese supermarket Uwajimaya. I ate a piece of Hawaiian pizza for lunch. I liked it. Seattle was a beautiful city. I got a lot of souvenirs that day.
At night, I ate Sushi at a Japanese restaurant. I thought that American sushi was different from Japanese sushi, but it was still delicious.

2/24 (Fri)
Laura was absent for her family matter. We enjoyed making sweets with Terry, who was Mr. Nonaka's host mother. The sweets were so delicious. In the after noon, we enjoyed bowling. I ate sandwiches at the bowling alley. Bowling was fun.
At night, I cooked curry and rice for my family, but I put too much water to curry, and it looked like soup.

2/27 (Mon)
It was the Craft Day. We made a memory photo frame and a memory journal for our host family. It was difficult to choose pictures for our craft because I got a lot of good pictures.
At night, I cooked Philippine food with my host mother. I liked it very much.

2/28 (Tue)
We kept making our memory journals hard all day.
At night, I cooked Shogayaki (ginger grilled pork) for my family. American meat was thick, so it was hard to grill it. I also made cupcakes with my host mother.

3/1 (Wed)
We finished making our journals. After that, we went to our last shopping and I got a lot of souvenirs. We went to a restaurant for early dinner, and I ate a hamburger. It was delicious. At the Sayonara Party in the evening, we were able to succeed in our presentation. I was very happy about it.
At home, my host family and I watched a Japanese anime movie“Kiki's Delivery Service.”
