Weekends with Host Family

2/11 (Sat)

I finally met my host family that day. We watched a movie “Moana,” which was not released yet in Japan. We ate big pizza for lunch. I enjoyed talking about Japan and showing pictures to my host family, and I enjoyed drawing with Lillian.

It was Donald's birthday! We ate big cheese hamburgers and French fries Brianne made for dinner.

2/12 (Sun)

I gave some Japanese goods to my host family. I was happy that they really liked them. We then went to a park to play sports. The weather was very nice. I enjoyed playing catch with Kyleigh and playing with kids in the park.

After getting home, I enjoyed making origami with girls. We made butterflies, medals, and so on. Donald gave me American chocolates, candies, and gummies. I cooked rice I bought from Japan for dinner. I was happy that they said, “So good!”

2/18 (Sat)

It was Brianne's birthday! We went to a big mall with cosmetics stores, a Disney store, sports stores, and so on.

We went to a Japanese restaurant “Samurai” for dinner. It looked like a Japanese castle. We enjoyed watching a fire show and having dinner. Fried rice and fried shrimp were my favorite.

2/19 (Sun)

We went to a movie theater to watch “The LEGO Batman Movie,” but all the tickets were sold out. We then went to a grocery store H-mart to buy some ingredients to make Japanese dishes.

Ater getting home, I watched a funny movie“The Heat.” I made niku-jaga for dinner after that. Brianne and Daniel used the chopsticks I gave, but they said it was difficult to use them. After dinner, we enjoyed playing a game Yahzee. Kids painted their face!

2/25 (Sat)

We went to a roller-skating rink. It was my first time to try roller-skating, so it was difficult. Brianne helped me, so I was able to enjoy it. We went to a supermarket Winco and I bought a lot of chocolates and candies as souvenirs. I was surprised that American supermarkets were so big.

After getting home, we watched the 2nd movie of “Harry Potter.” The story was a little difficult, but I was able to understand some lines with English subtitles. I made cream stew for dinner. Donald told me about hunting and showed me a picture of a deer head. I was surprised to see that! We watched the 3rd movie of “Harry Potter.”

2/26 (Sun)

We went to a batting cage with a small golf course, and I explored there with Jaxen. I tried batting for the first time, and Daniel taught me the proper batting form, so I was able to hit balls well.

While we were watching the 4th movie of “Harry Potter,” Lillian and Kyleigh came back home from their training camp of soccer. Donald and Kyleigh's step mother, Alex and her daughter, Izzie came home too. I talked to them a little.
