The Weekends
2/11 (Sat)
We arrived in Seattle and met our host families at the study center. Melody, Mike and Marta were waiting for me with their smile. I felt relieved to see them. We went to Spaghetti Factory for lunch. I ate clam sauce and cheese spaghetti and icecream. They were really delicious! After that, we went to a grocery store, and bought some stuff. I was happy because my host family bought me chocolate peanut butter icecream! I was surprised that American icecream was so big. After coming home, we watched a movie “Zootopia,” but I was very very sleepy. I went to bed early that day.

2/12 (Sun)
In the morning, I first went to a Starbucks store with my host family. I was surprised because the size of coffee was a lot bigger than that in Japan. After that, we went to church. My host family go to church every Sunday. Also, we went to a nail salon, and I painted my nails. I was really happy with it.
In the evening, we watched “The LEGO Batman Movie.” The movie was easy for me to understand. I thought the sofa in the American movie theater was more comfortable than that in Japan. After dinner, we played a card game called “Kings Corners.” It was difficult at first, but I enjoyed it. I gave my host family souvenirs I had brought from Japan. I was happy because they were glad with the souvenirs. It was a fun day.

2/18 (Sat)
In the morning, my family and I went to Tahoma National Cemetery, where Melody's father rested. After that, we went to Snoqualmie Falls. It was big and powerful. After that, we went to a chocolate shop called Boehm's candies. In the afternoon, we went to Myra's college. Her college was so big and Myra always had a nice smile on her face. We went to Starbucks, and enjoyed talking. At dinner, we ate Teriyaki. It was not very different from that in Japan. After dinner, we ate frozen yogurt at a store. It was so sweet!

2/19 (Sun)
In the morning, we went to church. After that, we went to Olympia, the capital city of the State of Washington, with Liam. I saw a building like the Japanese Diet Building there. We had lunch at a McDonald's. I was surprised that the drinks were very big! After lunch, we enjoyed playing a game Pac-Man.

2/25 (Sat)
In the morning, we cleaned our house and went shopping at a grocery store. In the evening, we had a party at our house. Many motorcycle friends of Mike's came to our house. I was happy that everyone spoke to me very kindly. I ate crackers with cream cheese and raspberry jam on. They were delicious! Also I ate macaroni cheese, mashed potatoes and turkey. They were really good too.
2/26 (Sun)
In the morning, we went to church. It was the last time I went to church. I liked hot chocolate to drink at the church. At night, I cooked Yakisoba for my family. I was happy that the host family said that it was delicious. I felt sad to leave America and wanted to spend a lot more time there.
