Weekends with Host Family

Feb. 10 （Sat）

When I arrived at the study center, Mike, Morgan and Logan were there to take me home. I was very nervous, but I was glad because they shook hands with me while smiling.

First, Mike drove us to an ice-cream store. I chose strawberry and chocolate ice-cream. Next, we went to a lake while eating the ice-cream. When we were walking around the coast, Logan found a shell. Later, we went for a little hiking, but we got lost and we were walking around about two hours. Yet the nature was rich and the air was pleasant, so I was happy.

After we came home, I met Lin for the first time. Lin hugged me saying, “Welcome!” For dinner, we went to a pizza restaurant. We could choose our favorite topping there, so I chose corns. I was surprised because everyone surprised me!

At night, we enjoyed a balance game for five times. It was so fun. Later, they gave me surprise presents. A parker with Seattle logo on it was particularly my favorite. I also gave each family my souvenirs from Japan.

I kept awake about 32 hours straight until I went to bed that day. I spent a very long day.

Feb. 11 （Sun）

In the morning, we went to a restaurant for breakfast. I ordered French toast. I was surprised becauce there were four big pieces of toast on the plate. That was a little too much.

After breakfast, we went to Snoqualmie Falls. The weather was very clear, and the scenery was very beautiful. The falls was very big, and there was a lot of misty rain around.

For lunch, we went to a Burger King. I ate a hamburger for the first time in America. Later, we went shopping.

After we came home, I played a game named “Zingo!” and played video games with Morgan and Logan. For dinner, Lin made us delicious chicken soup. After Logan went out to play baseball, Lin, Morgan, and I went to a grocery store. The American supermarket was very large, and the system of its cash register was different from Japanese one, so I was interested.

I was very glad because Morgan hugged me before she went to bed.

Feb. 17 （Sat）

In the morning, we ate tortilla with egg, meat, and mushroom for breakfast. It was so delicious.

Later, I went to Costco with Lin and Logan for the first time. I was surprised because everything was in a big size. We went to a commodity store too.

In the evening, Mike and Lin went to a concert, so I went to Haruka's house. We ate spaghetti that Haruka's mother made for us. After dinner, we enjoyed watching a movie called “Moana.” After watching the movie, Kurumi and her host family came and we enjoyed talking together.

Feb. 18 （Sun）

For breakfast, I ate the pancake that Mike and Lin made. In the morning, I enjoyed watching TV with Lin and Morgan.

In the afternoon, I went to the Museum of Flight with my family. I learned about various airplanes, and enjoyed simulation-type of attractions. I was glad because Morgan and Logan taught me about many airplanes and the space. We were able to get on some airplanes too.

In the evening, Lin, Morgan, and I went to a Chinese restaurant for dinner. After we came home, I experienced a VR game, which was so fun.

There was suddenly a blackout that night. It was a little cold, so we decided to turn on the fireplace. Logan did it smoothly. I got a real fireplace for the first time, and I was very warm. After everything was under control, Morgan, Logan, and I played with moving chicken toys. I liked corns, so my chicken was named Corn Champion.

Feb. 24 （Sat）

For breakfast, I ate the delicious omelette that Lin made for me.

Mike, Lin, Logan and I went sightseeing to Seattle that day.

When we arrived in Seattle, we first took a picture in front of the Space Needle. Next, we went to the Pacific Science Center. There were a lot of dinosaurs and animals there, and we could learn about the space too. When we entered the room with a lot of real butterflies, I was screaming all the time because I don't like insects.

After walking around in Seattle, we finally came home.

For dinner, we went to a Burger Express. I ate a regular burger and deep-fried mushrooms that Lin recommended to me. They were very delicious. After we came home, we watched “The LEGO Movie.”

Feb. 25 （Sun）

For breakfast, we went to a breakfast restaurant, and I ate scrambled egg. It had a lot of quantity, with some pancakes, so I couldn't eat them all.

After breakfast, we went to a mall. I bought souvenirs for Japan and experienced a VR game with Logan. The 3D world was wonderful, and we enjoyed it.

After we came home, I made gift boxes with Lin. I like doing detailed work, so I was very glad to make them out of paper. During the break time, Lin told me about Mike and Lin's familiarity, and her birth. We also talked about my sister Nana, who had stayed with the Fants before. Then, Lin said, “Come again with Nana someday,” so I was glad.

For dinner, we ate pizza. I was surprised because the pizza for adults was in a very big size.
