The Weekends

Feb.9 (Sat)

I went to Starbucks with Jane and our neighbors. It was the first time to order drink by myself in America, so I was nervous, but I made it alright.

In the evening, Jane made us meatball spaghetti. She is good at cooking, and she made two kinds of sauce in a short time. I chose the tomato sauce. The meatballs were so big that I got full immediately.

After dinner, I watched the movie "Coco" with Jane.

Before breakfast, Jane got her clothes burned while cooking, and there was a hole in her clothes. That was so funny. It was snowing a lot that day, so we couldn't go out. Jane taught me how to make Valentine cards. She likes crafting, so she has a lot of paper, stamps, pens and stickers for that.

I went to a grocery shop with Daryl and Jane and ate tacos. They taught me that taco is not octopus. I said, “I know!” It was our inside joke because they know we call octopus “tako” in Japan. I took some tacos home because they were just too much for me.

I watched the movie "Alice in Wonderland." After watching it, I went to a shopping mall with Jane. We ate grilled chicken for lunch at the mall. I couldn't eat it all, so I also brought it home. I bought clothes and souvenirs at the mall. Jane bought souvenirs for my Japanese family. She is so kind.

After we came back home, I watched the movie "Bohemian Rhapsody," but I slept while watching it. Then Daryl surprised me, and I jumped up.

Feb.17 (Sun)

I went to an Asian grocery shop H-mart because I was going to make Japanese dinner for my host family. At lunch, I ate ramen noodle and okonomiyaki. The okonomiyaki was as big as a pizza. Of course we took it out.

In the evening, I made nikujaga and chirashi-zushi. It was hard for me to slice beaf, and Jane helped me with it. When Daryl and Jane ate the dishes, they said, "Delicious," and "Tasty." I was so happy to hear that. I want to cook Japanese food for them again.

Feb.23 (Sat)

Daryl woke me up because we had promised to watch a soccer game together if there was any. He said to me, "Shiori! Soccer! Wake up!"

After watching the game, I went out with Daryl and Jane. First, we went to a restaurant called IHOP. I ate strawberry and banana pancake. It was the most delicious pancake I had ever eaten because it had less sugar. Next, we went to Bainbridge Island by ferry. On the ferry, we ate Ivar's clam chowder with snacks. Daryl took a lot of pictures of me. The island had many stores. In the evening, we went to WARRY'S and ate fish and chips.

The day was great. Thank you for taking me to a lot of places.

I went to a big mall with Jane. I got a COACH's bag cheaply because it was an outlet shop. We ate ice cream at Cold Stone and I chose strawberry flavor.

After we came back home, we each made a box and origami. First, Jane taught me how to make the box. After making it, we signed on each other's box. Next, I taught Jane how to make origami into the shape of a ribbon. Making it seemed hard for her, and she said "You do!" (The more beautiful one is mine in the picture below .)

I ate dinner with Daryl and Jane on the first floor. The time when I was sitting on the sofa and watching TV was very comfortable.
