The Weekends
Feb. 9 (Sat)
I woke up at 11. We couldn't go out because we had a lot of snow. Denise and I made banana bread. Its recipe was easy and the bread was delicious. After that we watched the movie “How to Train Your Dragon.” Glenn made popcorn for us. I enjoyed the time.
In the evening we played a card game. The rules were so difficult that I couldn't win at all.
After dinner we watched another movie.

Feb. 10 (Sun)
Mary and I had volunteer work at a theater, where they had a music show. We sold drink and cookies, handed out a pamphlet to the guests. When I watched the musical comedy, the actors spoke so fast that I couldn't understand it.
In the evening I played a card game with Mary. I understood the rules a little better, but I lost again. Mary was strong!!
Feb. 16 (Sat)
Mary and I went to an Itarian restaurant. Mary had a meeting of her volunteer organization there. I talked to many people, and had a great experience.
After that Denise, Yu and I went to a mall, where I bought some stuff and had boba tea.

Feb. 17 (Sun)
In the morning I went to church with Mary. At the church Glenn played the drums and Denise sang songs. They were so cool. I first met my host brother Duane there.
In the evening Mary and I went to the theater. We had the same volunteer work as the previous Sunday. The theater was more crowded and we were busier than the previous Sunday. I watched the same musical, and I understood the show better.
Duane, David and his girlfriend came to Sawyer's house. We ate lasagna for dinner. It was delicious and special!

Feb. 23 (Sat)
Glenn, Denise, Yu and I went to North West Treck. I saw many wild animals from our bus. I saw bisons for the first time, and got excited!! The place was on a mountain, so it was cold.
We went to “SONIC,” which is an old American style hamburger shop. I ordered a bacon burger and banana shake. I really liked the hamburger.
In the evening I watched another movie.

Feb. 24 (Sun)
It was my last Sunday in America. Natsumi's host father took us to a mall. Natsumi and I picked up some gifts for Alissa and some other souvenirs there. We had big shake. I chose Oreo flavor, but I couldn't finish it because it was so big.
We went to a restaurant for dinner. I ordred a bacon cheese burger. It was tasty. Every customer was throwing empty peanut shells away on the floor. I was surprised to see that, but it was fun!
