The Weekends

Feb. 17 (Sat)

I made breakfast with Pam in the morning. I cut garlic and green onions, and then grilled the sausage. I'm not good at cooking, but Pam kindly taught me, so I cooked well. I was happy because Tom said to me, "It was very delicious." In the afternoon, we went to Costco and a supermarket. I thought Costco was not very different from the one in Japan, but I saw many products for the first time. It was very interesting. Tom and Pam bought me boba in the supermarket. I like boba!

In the evening, Tom and I talked about our mutual favorite music and anime. I was happy because Tom was happy to introduce Japanese anime. I thought Tom loved Japan. I was glad to be able to introduce my favorite music. We had a great time.

I took a walk around the house with Tom. Tom taught me a lot about animals. I was surprised because I saw a tree bitten by an elk. It was very cold that day, so Pam lent me her jacket when I took a walk. I was happy.

In the evening, I made cookies with Pam. I was surprised at the amount of sugar. The cookies were sweet and delicious. It was fun to make them with Pam.

We took the ferry to Seattle. We ate a snack on the ferry. We had a great view of Seattle from the ferry. We went to the Space Needle and went up to its top. It was so high that I was scared. I wanted to go to the Space Needle, so I was happy to be able to go there. Next, we went to the Seattle Public Library. It had a very strange shape, so I found it right away. I was confused because there were so many books.

In the evening, I had a tea ceremony for Tom and Pam. I couldn't make tea well, so I was frustrated. I taught Tom and Pam how to drink Japanese tea. I was happy that Tom and Pam imitated me well.

I had a fever. Tom and Pam were very kind, and Pam brought me some fruit and medicine because she was worried about me. I was surprised because the medicine was a pink liquid. It didn't taste good, but I felt better. Thank you, Tom and Pam.

In the morning, I made a Japanese breakfast for Tom and Pam. I made miso-soup, rice balls, and a Japanese omelet. I was able to make them well. I was happy because Tom and Pam said to me, "It is delicious. Thank you, Sara," and they used the chopsticks I gave. I was surprised because Tom and Pam used chopsticks well. I was happy that Tom and Pam were able to experience something Japanese.

In the evening, we went to a restaurant. I ate clam chowder. This restaurant was by the ocean, so the view was beautiful. We talked about Japanese stew.

I went to church with Tom and Pam for the worship. I thought that worship meant listening to others, but I was wrong. They sang and talked to each other, so I was surprised. We ate chili dishes at church. I ate many kinds of chili dishes. It was so delicious that I ate a lot of it. It was a good experience for me.

In the evening, we went to a shopping mall. I bought a black jacket at Forever 21 with Pam. There were a lot of cute goods, and shopping was fun.
