Weekends

Sat., Feb. 21st

I woke up around noon and spent most of the day in the living room watching the Olympics and cooking shows on TV. Gremlin came and sat on my lap as usual. She stayed with me for a long time.

Later, I went to the basement with TerriLee to get food from the freezer for dinner. On the way, she showed me the backyard. I was surprised by how big it was.

For lunch, David took me to his favorite Thai restaurant. I had chicken pho. The noodles were soft and chewy, and they were delicious. After that, we went to an Asian supermarket. They had many Korean and Chinese products. The packages were cute, and it was fun to just look around.

For dinner, we went to a sushi restaurant called Akasaka. My host family had been there for many years. The sushi and sashimi were very fresh, and I was impressed.

Sat., Feb. 28th

We visited the home of TerriLee's sister and her husband. Their house was surrounded by nature and had a warm and welcoming atmosphere. They showed us their cows, but I was a little scared and couldn't get very close to them.

For lunch, we went out for tacos, which I had requested. They were very filling and delicious.

For dinner, we ate soba noodles that I had brought from Japan. I was delighted that my host family liked them.

So Cute

A Nice Day

Sun., Mar. 1st

TerriLee and I went to church to help prepare meals for homeless people. I wrapped cookies and put fruit into small containers. There were many small tasks to do, and I enjoyed helping out. The church had many useful kitchen tools. TerriLee used them very well, and I was impressed by her skills.

I wanted to eat them.

Sat., Mar. 7th

TerriLee and I went to a vintage shop that I had wanted to visit. The store had an American-style atmosphere. They sold many cowboy boots.
I was disappointed because they didn't have boots in my size. However, I still wanted a pair, so TerriLee took me to a boot store. I tried on many pairs of boots and finally found a pair that fit me. I was very happy to buy a pair.

Sun., Mar. 8th

I spent most of the day working on my journal. I had already thought about what I wanted to write, so the writing went smoothly.

For dinner, we went to Akasaka again. I ate sushi rolls. I was glad because I had never expected to go there twice. I enjoyed the meal from beginning to end. After we got home, I packed my luggage, including my souvenirs.
