Weekends

Sat., Feb. 21
In the morning, we went to my host family's daughter's house and helped her move . My host family's relatives asked me a lot of questions. I helped carry big boxes and put them on a truck, so I got exhausted. After that, we went to her new house and helped again. I also played with a big dog there for a long time. For lunch, we ate a very big pizza. After that, Brian took me to a store that I had wanted to visit. For dinner, we went to Shake Shack and had hamburgers.

My host family went to church, and I stayed home until about 12:00. I did the laundry and cleaned the house. After that, Robin and I enjoyed some watercolor painting. I really enjoyed it, so I wanted to make it one of my hobbies after I went back to Japan. Everyone said my painting was very good, which made me so proud. For dinner, Robin cooked chicken, which was absolutely delicious. After dinner, we made cookies together. They were so easy to make because we only had to mix the ingredients and bake them.

We met a dog named Penny. She was very big, energetic, and barked a lot. After that, we went to a petting zoo and got to touch many animals. They were all very cute. Then we went to a dollar store, which is like a 100-yen shop in Japan. There were many different things for sale, and it was fun to look around. I was happy because I was able to buy the tumbler that I had wanted. That day, I made hamburger steaks for dinner. Brian liked them very much. He even asked me for the recipe, which mode me so happy.

In the afternoon, we made cupcakes to give to everyone the next day. For lunch, Brian made hamburgers, which were delicious. In the evening, Brian and I watched the movie Rental Family. There was a scene with okonomiyaki, and I remembered what we had learned in our writing class in Japan. I was happy that I could understand the connection.

 Cute!!

I want to eat it again!

I went sightseeing in Seattle with Kiara and my host family. First, we went to a place with a beautiful view where we could see the Space Needle. The view was amazing. We also saw a man proposing to his girlfriend there, and it was very sweet. After that, we went to the beach. Kiara and I talked about many things, just like a girls' chat. It was a lot of fun, and I learned many new things about her. Then we went to see some boats. I had never seen boats like that before, so it was very exciting.
