Weekends

Sat., Feb. 21

Around noon, we had Eloise's birthday party. Lots of her friends and their families came to celebrate with her. I was so nervous that I couldn't say a word, but when everyone started talking to me, I began to relax. We all ate the unicorn-shaped cupcakes that Abbie had made. It was a very lively party.

In the afternoon, Eloise and I watched the Olympics and talked. It was a bit hard to keep the conversation going, but I was happy because we got to know each other little by little. Later, I read a picture book with the twins, Arthur and Lydia.

Sun., Feb. 22

I went to the Capitol Building with Eloise and Chris. We took a tour of the Washington State Capitol. The guide's explanation was difficult, so I couldn't understand much of it, but I thought the building was grand and amazing. After that, we went to a restaurant for lunch. I had pancakes, and I was surprised to find bacon on them. We played rock-paper-scissors while we were waiting for our food. After we got home, Eloise and I made origami together .

At night, my host family asked me if I had a nickname. I told them "Coco," and Abbie and Arthur called me "Coco" right away. I was very happy.

It was so big and beautiful!

Sat., Feb. 28

Since I had a fever the night before, I stayed in bed to rest, as Abbie suggested. She made dinner for me instead of going shopping to cook Japanese food. In the evening, I felt better, so I showed her my photos and we chatted. I was happy because it was the first time we had such a long conversation. After that, I helped clean up after dinner.

I learned that “I’m sorry.” can also be used to show sympathy when someone is sick.

Sun., Mar. 1

I woke up late again. I was going to cook Japanese food, but Abbie was tired, so we decided to save it for another day. In the afternoon, Eloise played a game on my phone. She learned how to play so quickly, and I thought she was really smart. After that, we went to see a beautiful sunset and the bay . I enjoyed watching the children and dogs there.

At night, I had a stomachache, and Abbie kindly asked me if I needed medicine or anything else. After I felt better, I helped clear the table after dinner. I was happy because Arthur called me “Coco” many times.

Sat., Mar. 7

I went out with my host family in the morning and took a ferry to a nearby island. I was surprised that cars could also be taken on the ferry. We enjoyed the beautiful nature and a huge American-sized pizza. After coming home, I watched “A Bug’s Life” with Eloise. After dinner, I played Crazy Eights with Chris and Eloise while eating ice cream. It was a fun day.

So big!

Sun., Mar. 8

In the morning, I went to church with Abbie. It was my first time attending a church service, so I participated by watching and following what others did. I don’t usually have the chance to go to church, so it was a valuable experience to learn about a different culture.

In the afternoon, I relaxed at home by taking a nap with the kids and watching TV. In the evening, I went to the park with Chris and the kids. They looked so happy and adorable, and I enjoyed playing tag with them and pushing them on the swings. I was happy to spend so much time playing with the kids on my last day off.

 Enjoying the day!
