Sayonara Party Preparation and
Celebration
This was our last day at the study center, and we planned to have a
Sayonara Party in the evening. We spent the entire day at the study center,
finishing our memory journals for our host families, as well as practicing our
presentation for the party.
The party began
shortly after 6:00 p.m., with all the host families invited. We dressed in
yukata (casual summer kimonos) and started the event with a
presentation about soba, a traditional Japanese buckwheat noodle. After
that, we each took turns giving our journals, magnets, and photo frames to our
host families. Finally, we enjoyed a cake baked by Alissa and spent time
chatting with one another. It was a wonderful party!
