DAY 15: 3/5 (Thurs.)
rainy, later sunny
Visit UW and Seatle's Waterfront

We went on a full-day excursion to Seattle. Our first stop was the University of Washington, where we explored the campus. The highlight was the massive library; the interior was stunning and looked just like a scene from a Harry Potter movie. We also visited the campus bookstore and walked around in the light rain, amazed by how vast the campus was.

Next, we dropped by the famous Fremont Troll before heading to Seatle's iconic Space Needle. Although we didn’t go up to the observation deck, we enjoyed browsing the souvenir shops nearby.

Down at the waterfront, we looked around the shops and bought matching T-shirts. For lunch, we had fish and chips and clam chowder at the famous seafood restaurant, Ivar's. The chowder was absolutely delicious!

Afterward, we explored the famous Pike Place Market for a couple of hours. It was full of interesting spots like the original Starbucks, the Made in Washington store, and the Gum Wall. Simply wandering through the market was a lot of fun.

Our final stop was Uwajimaya, a Japanese grocery store, where we picked up some items for our host families and friends. It turned out to be another fantastic full-day excursion!
