Host Family

I lived in the Keene's house for the first 3 months, and then moved to the Nickelson's house and stayed there for the rest of my stay.

The Nickelson Family

 Ron
Ron is a cute old man who loves ice cream. He loves talking and telling jokes, too. I could not talk with him when I first met him because his voice was a little too loud and powerful. He always made me laugh.
 Vicky
Vicky is good at cooking and always kind. Eating Vicky's delicious dinner was a large part of my stay. A cup of blueberry smoothie and a waffle that she made were my favorite. She helped me learn English when I had some mistakes in English.
 Sayaka
Sayaka is an academic student of GRCC. She is also good at cooking and sometimes cooked Japanese food. Going to the concert of Lorde together is a good memory with her.  Sayaka was like a sister, who went shopping together and helped me with my homework.
 Akiko
Akiko is an academic student of GRCC, too. She and I baked some cupcakes and went to the lake together. I love talking with her until midnight , and sometimes we were solded by the family because we were talking too loud late at night.
 Ginger
Ginger is a girl of English Springer Spaniel . She was so cute when she looked outside the window all the time, waiting for Ron and Vicky to return whenever they were out. Everyone loves her.

House

The house was in a quiet place, so I was able to focus on studying. There were private rooms and a bathroom for my roommates and I. My room had a big bed , so my friends could stay there. I could see Lake Meridian in the neighborhood from the window in my room.
I made breakfast and lunch for myself, and  took the leftovers to school. All members of the family ate dinner together and talked with each other. My roommates and I helped Vicky prepare dinner and cleared the table.
We watched movies, went shopping, or exercise watching a DVD on weekends.
I went to college by bus because it was far from our house. It took me about 15 minutes to walk to the bus stop near my house. After class, my host family or a neighbor of a student of GRCC came to pick me up.
I could go out and stay at my friend's house anytime , but I needed to tell my family beforehand what time I was leaving and coming home.
I spent only a short time with the Nickelson family, but all members were  very kind and they were like my real family.
