　Verna
Verna is a cheerful and kind host mother. She always took care of me. She has a job related to school, and she was busy everyday. Her cooking was great, I especially liked her clam chowder. I always looked foward to having dinner.

　Bruce
Bruce is like a gentleman, and a funny host father. He always talked to me with a smile. He helped me out right when I was worried about something. He often made jokes, and made me laugh.

　Calvin
Calvin was a nice roommate of mine. He came from Viet Nam. He was an academic student of GRCC, and he was a peer mentor. He is a little bit rough person, but he is a funny and kind boy. He likes the Japanese anime “Detective Conan.”

　Rachelle
Rachelle was a cute roommate of mine. She came from Singapore, and she was an academic student of GRCC. She was like my reliable sister. I went shopping with her, and we also went to Korean BBQ together.

　Butch and Ginger
The big one is Butch, and the small one is Ginger. They were often playing with each other.
They wore clothes made by Verna on events such as Christmas, Halloween, and Super Bowl.

　
　My host family has been accepting many students, so there are a bathroom and a refrigerator for students at home. The students can also ask for whatever they want to eat.
　My host family was busy, so I didn't have much time to be with them. However, when we had time to talk, they asked me things about Japan. I couldn't explain them all, and I felt I didn't know many things about Japan. On the other hand, my host family taught me a lot of things about America. We talked about politics, religions, and so on. It was valuable experience.
　I saw movies, and went shopping with my roommates. On a snowy day, we had a snowball fight too.
　My host family was American, so I learned some differences between Japan and America. I also touched American culture directly.
