First of all, I was interested about studying abroad since I was in high school. When I came to an open campus of Seiryo College, I heard lots of things from the students who had been to America, and I decided to go studying abroad. I was excited to hear that I could finally study abroad. When I arrived in America, I couldn't say what I wanted to say and I was not good at listening, so I was disapointed by myself. Also, when people couldn't understand what I said, I felt sad. However, thanks to my host family and kind friends, I was able to improve my English skills. Moreover, when I had unknown words, I always asked my host mom and dad for help. In addition, Karen, who was in the study hall, helped me when I had some questions and needed to practice my presentation. For those things, I was helped by everyone. I would like to tell everyone “Thank you.” After I came back to Japan, I recalled my American life, and I had lots of memories that were enjoyable and painful. Thinking about good points of studying abroad, I felt some changes in my mind and learned a lot of culture from various countries. The most impressive lesson I learned is that Christmas is not only the day to give presents to children, but also the day to give them to other children, who are poor and need help. Finally, I would like to tell the students who are going to America. From my experience, I met a lot of pepole who live in America to study abroad, and I learned a lot of things from them. For those things, I think talking with others is the most important thing. When you go studying abroad, you should meet and communicate with a lot of pepole, and make a lot of friends. |
