Glenn

Glenn was my host father, and I called him Dad. He was jolly and kind. He always made us laugh.

Glenn took and picked Diep and me up at the bus stop every weekday. He is good at cooking, so I really enjoyed his cooking. He likes teriyaki meatballs, and he made them every Monday.

Moreover, Glenn likes sports such as American football, baseball, and basketball. When a Japanese baseball team had a game with an American team, we watched the game on TV together.

Kimberly

Kimberly was my host mother, and I called her Mom. She was always busy. She works at a gym, and she also has her own business. She sells a lot of kitchen stuff, and she sometimes goes to other houses to demonstrate her kitchen stuff. I really liked her business.

Kimberly is also good at cooking, and I liked pasta and meat loaf that she made.

Kimberly told me a lot of stories, and I learned many things like religion and politics from her. It was difficult for me to understand all, but I liked listening to her so much.

Joanna

Joanna was my roommate, and she was from China. She was an academic student at GRC, and her major was aviation.

Joanna was always conscions about her appearance, and she was so kind. Even when I couldn't speak English well, she listened to me patiently.

Joanna had a car, and she sometimes took me out. While we were doing housework, we were talking about classes and friends. She was like a sister to me.

Diep

Diep was my roommate, and she was from Vietnam. She was an IESL student at GRC, and she studied at Level 4 and 5. She was a cute girl of my age. She liked Japan, so we often talked about Japanese culture. She sometimes studied one of the Japanese characters “hiragana.” When she was taking a shower, she sang songs in various languages, so I was surprised.

When I was leaving for Japan, Diep gave me a letter. She wrote that she wanted to learn Japanese in order to talk with me. I was so happy to know that.

Rocky

Rocky is an Australian shepherd. He is always cheerful and is running around. He is friendly with everyone.

Rocky loves eating. He often ate our sweet food in the kitchen, and he was scolded.

Tucker

Tucker is a Welsh Corgi. He is fat, so he is on a diet. He likes Glenn very much, and he often waits for him and follows him around. When I threw a ball to him, he always brought it back to me.

Ginger

Ginger is a little fat, and she is a friendly cat. She doesn't like dogs so much, so she doesn't come downstairs to avoid them. When I was upstairs, she came to my room and slept. Her favorite place is Joanna's bed, so she often sleeps on her bed.

Cammy

Cammy is a shy cat. She liked Glenn, but she wasn't friendly with other people so much when I first started living in the house. When she got used to me, she sometimes came to my room and slept on my laps. She made me feel at ease.
