I had been studying English since I was a junior high school student, and I got a lot of vocabulary and grammar knowledge. However, I couldn't talk in English very well. I thought my effort didn't have any meaning and wanted to speak English better. I also wanted to talk with people from other countries. That was why I decided to study abroad.

I was a little nerves because I had never been to America and was worried about the school and the homestay. I wondered if I could get friends and spend a good time. Yet I thought I was still looking forward to studying in America. Actually when I arrived in America, I didn't have time to think about my worries because I had many things to do. For me, this half year was very short. On the other hand, I thought this half year was very perfect and long after I read my diary because I learned a lot of new things every day. I kept my diary during staying in America. Though it can be difficult if you have never written a diary, it must be good for you after all.

Of course, I improved my English skills and learned a lot of other things. For example, a wet towel that we can get at restaurants in Japan is a wonderful Japanese culture. I also learned that they don't care about their age in America, which means there is no hierarchical relations about age differences in America. I got an opportunity to learn about Japanese culture that we cannot notice living only in Japan. I'm also proud that I got a lot of friends from other countries during my stay.
