I got interested in English when I was in 6th grade of elementary school. When I was a high school student, I learned that there was a studying abroad program at Seiryo Junior College. After Ms. Seki and our senior students told us about the program, I wanted to go to study abroad, change myself and have confidence. That's why I decided to go to study abroad. When I first decided to go, I had pleasure of going to America, but as the departure day was getting closer, I became worried whether I could live by myself. I was very lonely when I left my family and friends on the departure day.

When I arrived in America, my host family picked me up at the airport. At that time, I had to leave my friends and teacher and communicate by myself. After I left the airport, I was taken to a cell phone shop and the bank. However, I couldn't understand what the people at the shop were saying, so I thought what if my English skills didn't improve. I was very anxious at that time and I got depressed. While I was worried, I had an orientation for one week before the class started. At that time, I made a lot of friends, but it still took me a while to speak out.

For the first few weeks, I was so concerned about grammar when I was speaking that I couldn't say what I wanted to say in English. I decided to talk more actively. Even if I made a mistake, I didn't care about it. As a result, I didn't feel the language barrier as much as before.

After I went to study abroad, I got 2 changes. First, I got confidence. Second, I got my own opinions.

If you go studying abroad, you will have a great experience you can't enjoy in Japan. I want you to make a lifetime memory that you can only experience during the 6 months.

Finally, I really appreciate my parents, teachers, friends who have supported me since I decided to go to study abroad, host family and friends who went to America together. Thank you very much!!
