Kurt

Kurt is my host father, who is very kind and funny. He always makes us smile. He talked to me every day like “How was your school?” or “How are you doing?” Also, his explanation is easy to understand, and when I asked him about English questions, he answered me with various examples. On holidays, he took me to the church and various places so that I had good experiences. On the last day, he gave me a prayer. I was very glad about it.

Christine

Christine is my host mother, who is very kind and cute. She said to me, “You're my family.” When I had a high fever, she took good care of me. She works for a local church, and she is often listening to people's problems. She is respected by everyone. When she talked with me, she used English that was easy for me to understand. She listened to me patiently even if I made mistakes and didn't speak English well. Therefore, I spoke English without giving up. I enjoyed talking to her. She is a very nice person, so she is loved by everyone.

Anna

Anna was my roommate from China. She is an academic student at GRC, and her major is business. She is a kind and reliable person. She taught me about our house and GRC. Sometimes, she helped my assignment such as surveys and interviews. I made curry with Anna. The taste was very good and memorable. At Christmas, we played a puzzle or made a ginger house together. I really enjoyed it with her.

Helen

Helen was my roommate from Myanmar. She is an academic student at GRC, and she started to live with us in the winter quarter. She is a good person. Although I didn't have much time to talk with her, when I talked with her, I was very glad. I heard her singing in her room several times, and she had a very beautiful singing voice.
