My Host Family

The Gard Family

Host Father Jay		Jay is very kind and funny. He likes history. He often goes to work early. He sometimes cooked dinner for us. I like macaroni & cheese cooked by Jay. We often watched TV and movies together after dinner. He likes sports too and he enjoyed watching UW basketball team "Huskies" games on TV. I like his smile!
Host Mother Marika		Marika works at an elementary school. She likes children. She always goes to work early, so I couldn't see her in the morning. She likes making cards. She took me to many places. I like going to many places in Seattle with her. She knows about Germany, and she taught me both American and German cultures. Her stories made me laugh.
Host Brother Alex		Alex was busy with his school and part-time job on weekdays. I couldn't see him on weekdays, but I often went out with him, his girlfriend Paige, Jay and Marika on weekends. He asked me about the Japanese language. He is very kind and gentle.
Sophie		Shopie is a very smart girl. She likes the Gard family. She often slept on Marika's or Jay's lap, and then she looked happy. I felt peace in my mind to see her because she was very cute!
