February 17 (Fri)

I went to the study center with Eri, and we took the first class there. Denise taught us some American games. We went to a shopping mall near the study center in the afternoon, ate lunch and enjoyed shopping. I bought some fragrance at Bath & Body Works. In the evening, Welcome Party was held. I ate some dinner and talked with my host family a lot.

February 20 (Mon)

We went to a fire station, and asked firefighters some questions. I was surprised that they were working as a volunteer. We tried to get on a fire engine. It was very big and large enough for four or five people to ride at the backseat. In the afternoon, we learned how to use American coins. It was a little difficult, but it was very useful when I bought something.

February 22 (Wed)

I woke up early, because we had to leave home earlier than usual to go to Leaveworth. We saw the mountains covered with snow. There were many shops, and we went to a hat shop and a sweets shop. Mami and I ate ice-cream in there. It was very delicious. I wanted to buy many things, but they were too expensive to buy.

February 23 (Thu)

We went to the city hall of Federal Way. They had the police department in the same building too. We listened to a city hall staff talk about the city and he showed us around. We later met a police officer with his police dog. The dog was very cute but powerful, and he pulled me strongly.
I watched "Chicken Little" and "Night at the Museum" at home. I had never watched "Chicken Little," and it was very funny.

February 24 (Fri)

On that day, we went to Green River Community College and a senior home. Green River Community College had a very big campus, and I saw people from various countries. We also saw student residences. We learned that about 4 people can live in one student residence.
In the afternoon, we went to a senior home, and we talked with some senior people. We sang Japanese songs for them, but we forgot the words of the song.

February 27 (Mon)

We went to an elementary school, and taught students how to count numbers in Japanese. I practiced the presentation, but I made some mistakes. I should have practiced more. After that, we played with the students. They were very powerful and active, so I got very tired, but it was fun. The students were very cute, and I want to meet them again.

February 29 (Wed)

It was raining that day, and we went to Downtown Seattle. We went to Space Needle, the UW library and many shops. We could not go up the Space Needle observation deck because it was raining hard. We also went to a chocolate shop in Pike Place Market. The chocolate was very delicious, so I wanted to buy more. At the first store of Starbucks Coffee, I bought coffee beans and a tumbler.

March 5 (Mon)

Sayonara Party was held. We were wearing Yukata, and we gave our presentation. I felt nervous, but our presentation was successful. After that, I took many pictures with my host family. I was sad because I had to leave America the next day.
