Laura's Classes

Feb. 15th (Fri)

In the morning, Laura taught us some rules for homestaying.  After lunch, we walked around the study center and went shopping.  In the evening, we had the welcome party. We ate
delicious dishes which our host family brought, and talked with each other.
After the party, I went to H-Mart and Adam's family's house with my family.  While we were driving to Adam's family's house,  I thought that I saw a UFO, but it was an airplane.  I  was so happy to see Adam's family.

After school, Adam's mother Heidi and his sister Lauren came to the study center and drove me home.  I made Japanese food "Chirashi-Zushi" and "Miso-Soup"  at home for my family.  I was so happy because they liked the dishes I made.

After school, our family went to a huge shopping mall called South Center.  My family bought me dinner at "Red Robin." I loved the big hamburger.  After dinner, we went  shopping.  The mall was a lot bigger than a Japanese shopping mall.

We went to Leavenworth, and saw many cute shops  and many Christmas decorations there.  We shared some German dishes for lunch.  After lunch, we ran to an icecream shop.  I was so full, but I had icecream too.  We had a very nice day.

They gave me some candies.  We ate American dishes which our host families made for us.  These dishes were very delicious!!   After lunch, we went shopping near the study center.   We later ate apple pie when we came back to the study center!!  It was so yummy!!
After school, Marianne and I walked in a park and talked a lot.

After school, Lauren came to pick me up and we talked a lot in her car.  I was suprised to know that she had many shoes like Marianne.

We made a memory journal and decorated a photo frame with some pictures for host families.  We used Laura's decoration kit for the craft.
After I came back to Japan, Marianne emailed me and showed me where she put the journal and the picture frame.  I was impressed by the mail.

 Feb. 28 (Thu)

We went to Seattle.  We went to the University of Washington, Space Needle, a shopping mall, Pike Place Market, the first Starbucks store, Safeco Field, Uwajimaya and Kinokuniya, which is a Japanese supermarket and bookstore. We ate Asian food in the mall.  We could not decide what to eat because there were so many kinds of foods there.  We bought many souvenirs in Seattle.  I would like to go there again  someday.

 Mar. 1 (Fri)

In the morning, we made a journal and a photo frame.  After lunch, we went bowling and bowled for 2 games.  Marianne came with us to bowl and she was good at bowling.  Laura advised me and I was able to improve my skill.  After bowling, Marianne and I went to a thrift shop. I enjoyed the place because they had many items with a low price.
In the evening, Lauren and her friend came to my house and brought me to an icecream shop.  Lauren bought pizza and ate pizza while we watched "Snow White" at home.

  Mar. 4 (Mon)

We prepared "Sayonara Party" during the day, I was so sad, and didn't want to go back to Japan.
At the party, I tried not to cry and enjoyed our final night.  But when I said Adam thank you and good-bye at home, I almost started to cry.  My host family always went to bed around 9 p.m., but they stayed with me until 10 p.m. that night.  I couldn't sleep well and I saw Adam leaving for work the next morning.
