I woke up a little early, and made a tuna sandwich for lunch with Mary. We took a class with Kara, who had hosted our older students before. I was worried about whether or not I could understand what Laura said, but she spoke to us so slowly and clearly. We learned about English conversation. After the class, we went shopping at “Target.” I cooked Deviled Egg with Mary for the Welcome party that day.

I was surprised that most firefighters work as a volunteer. I couldn't really understand what they said because they spoke so fast.

We went to Green River College and met Naoko and Maria, who were Seiryo students studying at GRC. We couldn't talk with them at all because they had a class. The college was so big and even had a store where we could buy Green River College goods. I bought a college flag. We then left the college and went to a home for the elderly. The place was like a hotel. I was surprised when I found a shower room in a resident room. We sang Japanese songs for the elderly people.

It was the day for American holiday activites. We hunted eggs for Easter, and ate Thanksgiving dishes for lunch. Mai's hostmother Jane brought us a turkey. All the dishes were so delicious. After lunch, we had a Halloween party. We borrowed a costume from our host family, and wore one. We said “Trick or Treat?” to Laura and got some candies. We then baked cheese cupcakes with strawberry sauce. Moe brought us a cherry pie and Mai brought us a pumpkin pie. Both pies were so dilicious, especially the cherry pie. I ate too much. After school, I saw an ice hockey game with Moe, Mai and Mai's host family. I had never seen a hockey game before. It was so fun and exciting.

We visted an elememtary school the whole day. We taught children how to count from one to ten in Japanese. I was worried if we could do it well, but the children listened to our presentation patiently. We found some mistakes in our presentation on the day, but we carried out the presentation anyway. We played with the children at recess. They were so powerful and I got so tired. I went back home and slept a little.

It was the Craft Day. We made a memorial journal for our host family. Mr. Nonaka prepared our photos, and Lsura brought us stickers for decoration. We used them and made a special memorial journal. Jane came to class in the afternoon and taught us how to make message cards. We made two cards. One was for our host family, and the other was for ourselves. Mai and Chihiro went back home after class, and the others went to See's Candies and an ice cream shop Cold Stone. The ice cream was delicious.

I went to Jimmy Mac's with Mary, Glenn, Laura and Kaori. I share a steak with Mary. It was thick, tender and juicy, which was the best steak I had ever eaten in my life. I can't forget the white bread with honey butter, either. We went back home and packed my stuff in my suitcase. After that I watched a TV show called “The Voice” with Glenn.
