Weekends
Feb. 14th (Sun)
I went to church with Mary. Glenn's band played songs about Christianity. The songs were like modern music. After that, Glenn took me to a theater where Mary works, and I watched a Western Country Music show named “Ring of Fire” with Glenn and Kaori. I couldn't really understand what the actors said, but I enjoyed listening to the music. After the show, I took a picture with the actors. Then, they asked me about the show, but I couldn't speak English well. We went back home and had dinner with my host brother Duane. We ate steak and potato. It was delicious.

I joined a party that Mary's friend held at a Mexiacn restaurant. About 20 people were in the restaurant. I was worried about speaking English, but I enjoyed talking about Japan with the woman who sat next to me. After eating lunch, we exchanged gifts. I brought Japanese chocolates, and I got a mug, a towel and chocolates.

I went to church. I listened to Glenn's drum performance for the first time. I was looking forward to listening to his drums. After that, I played the drums too. The drums were electronic ones.
Mary and I went shopping to buy some food for volunteers at Costco, and I helped Mary clean up the storeroom at the church.
Duane was cooking when we came back home. David came back home and I talked with him about my hobby, movies, what I did in America and my major in college. We watched a movie with English sound and English subtitles, but it was still too hard for me to understand. We ate lasagna, clam chowder and garlic toast for dinner. All the dishes were so delicious.

It was the day for Seattle sightseeing. I went to Seattle with Glenn, Mary, Moe, Laura and Kaori. We gathered at my house in the morning, and made a plan for sightseeing. I talked with Mary and Glenn in a car about Japanese fireworks while we were going to Seattle. We went to Space Needle. The view was so beautiful. I was able to see the ocean from the top of Space Needle. Next, we went to the EMP museum, I saw various exhibitions such as Hello Kitty, the Lord of the Ring, the Star Wars and so on. We had lunch, and went back to the museum again. We spent about 4 hours there. If you like movies and music, you should go there. Then, we went to Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Visitor Center, and learned about the world. Finally, I went shopping with Kaori, Moe and Laura to buy souvenirs for our teachers in Japan. Glenn was talking with his daugter Denise, who lives in Japan, on Skype, so I talked with her too. I talked with her about Japanese, her friends, her students, and she told me jokes. I had a lot of fun.

Moe came to my house, and we had lunch together. After lunch, we went to Walmart and bought a lot of snacks as souvenirs. Mary and I then sent Moe to her house. Her host family had two dogs, and they were so powerful and cute. Moe's host mother gave me some pieces of cheesecake. We went back home and watched the Academy Awards Ceremony on TV. “Mad Max,” which Glenn recommend to me got a lot of awards, so I thought I should see the movie when I went back to Japan. We ate ham for dinner. Mary made sweet sauce to eat ham. It was salty and sweet. I was so sad because the day was the last Sunday and I wouldn't see my host brothers again. They hugged me when they left home, so I was happy.
