The Weekdays

Feb.11 (Mon)

We had no class because we got a lot of snow.

I went shopping with Jonelle. I was happy to meet Natsumi, Anri and Shion there after a long time. We looked around the mall. I had lunch at SUBWAY. I was very nervous to order and pay money for the first time in America.

After returning home, I played some card games with Samantha and Jonelle. They taught me American card games. I also taught them Japanese standard a card game. We spent a good time.

Feb.12 (Tue)

We had no class again due to snow.

In the morning Alissa took me to a swimming pool. I enjoyed the waterslide and played games with Natsumi, Remi and Genie.

After that we went to a shop of frozen yogurt. The shop had many flavors and toppings, so I couldn't decide what to eat. We ate the frozen yogurt at Alissa's house.

Feb.13 (Wed)

We visited Seattle. I was glad to see my friends after three days. At first we went to University of Washington. It was so large and cool. Next we went to a chocolate shop. The next day was Valentine's Day, so I bought chocolates for my host family. We then visited Space Needle, which is a symbol of Seattle. It was not sunny that day, but we looked over the city of Seattle from its observatory. We ate hamburgers for lunch. We also went to Pike Place Market and bought a T-shirt. I spent a great time.

Feb.14 (Thu)

We visited a local fire station. We asked some questions and experienced firefighting practice.

We had a class at the study center in the afternoon. We exchenged Valentine's messages with each other, and then studied about American coins.

I selected Halloween costume to wear the next day. After that I went to the pool with my host family and Natsumi.

Feb.15 (Fri)

We experienced American holidays such as Halloween, Easter and Thanksgiving. We ate Thanksgiving dishes. I was surprised at a big turkey. We ate apple pie and pumpkin pie for dessert.

When I got home, Jonelle was baking chocolate brownies. They were so delicious.

I enjoyed talking with everyone's host family at the welcome party. I felt close to the host families.

Feb.18 (Mon)

We went to a doughnut shop in the morning. Some doughnuts were sweet and tasty.

We next went to Tacoma Mall and I bought some chocolates and lip cream.

After I came home, I played Wii and talked about school with Samantha. Jonelle made hamburgers at dinner.

Feb.19 (Tue)

We visited a local police depertment and the law court. We got in a police car and looked at the facility. We got dressed in Judge's robe.

After that we had a class. Alissa read us some children's books and we enjoyed making funny stories.

At dinner, I ate BBQ Rib with my host family. It was so tender and tasty.

Feb.20 (Wed)

We went to Snoqualmie Falls, but we couldn't see the waterfall at all in the fog. We also went to an outlet mall and an old train station. I bought my friends some postcards at the nice shop. A huge log was displayed nearby. It was very impressive. After that we went to a shopping mall called Bellevue Square and I bougth some souvenirs there.

We went to the beautiful beach on the way back home. I took many pictures.

Feb.21 (Thu)

We practiced for our presentation about Japanese numbers and Japanese songs at the study center.

Around noon we visited Green River College and looked aroud the facility. I was surprised because the college campus was so large. I met my freinds who were studying abroad.

After that we visited a senior home, whose faciliy looked luxurious. We had the presentation about numbers there and we enjoyed talking with the seniors.

Feb.22 (Fri)

We each made a memory photo frame for our host family.

We went bowling in the afternoon and ate lunch at the bowling alley. We played two games of bowling, and Mary taught me how to bowl.

In the evening, I ate KFC at Alissa's house, and then went to Samantha's high school with my host family and Natsumi's host family to watch her play. Genie and Remi guided Natsumi and me around the school before we watched the play. I was so surprised because Samantha and her friends were really good at acting!

Feb.25 (Mon)

We each made our memory journal for our host family all day. I had difficulty deciding its design and layout. I couldn't finish my journal that day, so I also worked on it at home.

I ate chicken with apple sauce for dinner. I was surprised, but Jason saide to me, “It is delicious, so please try it.” It was tasty and I ate all the sauce too.

Feb.26 (Tue)

I finally finished my memory journal, so I was relieved.

At lunch we went to lvar's. It was my third time to eat lvar's clam chowder, but it was still delicious even how many times I ate.

In the afternoon we prepared for the Sayonara party. We practiced for our presentation and we put on yukata. The presentation was successful.

Jonelle bought me a kit of chicken casserole on the way back.

I talked with my host family for the rest of the night. Jason's joke was funny, so we didn't stop laughing.
