We arrived at the airport and met our teacher guide, Laura, and Yui's host mother, Alissa. Alissa drove us around when we needed to go somewhere. We were hungry, so we went to Denny's. I was nervous and I couldn't talk much.

We visited Boehm's Chocolate Factory
. It was interesting to see how chocolates are made. I bought some chocolates and a postcard as souvenirs. After that, we went to see Snoqualmie Falls. The waterfall was very powerful. I also bought some stickers. Then, we went to Target. I was very excited to see so many American products.

Wow!

In the late afternoon, we arrived at the study center. My host mother, Abbie, and host sister, Eloise, came to pick me up. After greeting everyone at the house, Abbie gave me a tour of the rooms. We had some time before dinner, so I went to a nearby library and park with Chris and Eloise. We enjoyed reading books and playing outside. When we came back home, I gave them some souvenirs I brought from Japan. For dinner, we had a Mexican dish called enchiladas . It was very delicious. I was very tired after the long flight, so I took a shower and went straight to bed.

Nice to meet you!

Instead of turkey, we had chicken, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie. After lunch, we dressed up in costumes provided by our host families and experienced Halloween. I dressed up as Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz." We got a lot of candy. Next, we experienced Easter by going on an egg hunt for hidden candies. I only found a few, but it was still fun.

After changing clothes, we made noodles . Laura taught us how to do it. I got anemic and felt sick, so I had to take a short break. Laura kindly helped me. I went back to making noodles. It was my first experience and a lot of fun.

We went to Green River College . One student from Hong Kong gave us a tour of the campus. We looked around the library, lunch areas, and a bookstore. I was impressed by the size of the campus and the items sold in the stores, which were different from those of Japanese universities.

In the afternoon, we went to a nursing home . We first sang "Ame-Ame-Fure-Fure" and the Japanese national anthem for the residents, and then talked with them. I was tired from speaking so much English, but I enjoyed the conversations and gained confidence.

Finally, we practiced our number presentation for the elementary school visit at the study center.
