Visit
Leavenworth
We
had a nice full-day excursion to Leavenworth, the Bavarian Village in the central area of the State of Washington. We got on a van and left for
Leavenworth early in the morning. Mai's host sister Denise, who
used to work for juniro high schools in Japan for five years,
came to join our tour that day. She was so kind and helpful.
After driving for
about three hours, we finally reached the village. We saw many German style
buildings and pretty shops. We first had lunch at a pretty
German restaurant, and enjoyed a few kinds of German sausages and a
few more dishes. They tasted so good. After lunch we looked around
some interesting shops in a group, including a funny hat shop, a
small toy store, a candy store, and many more shops. The shop called
"Kris Kringle" was full of Christmas goods and they were
just so beautiful.
We enjoyed looking
around many kinds of fun shops for our souvenir shopping in the afternoon. We
even dropped by a store that sold local farming products on our way back. The
store had a small animal farm with it, and we saw some farm animals
such as goats, cows, roosters, ostriches, and so on. It was
a nice surprise, and we had a very good tour that day.
