DAY 13: 2/25 (Tues.)
sunny

Visit UW and Seatle's Waterfront Area

We took a full day excursion to Seattle's waterfront area that day. We first visited University of Washington , and looked around the campus. We first looked inside of a huge library. The inside of the building was so beautiful and looked just like the buildings we saw in the Harry Potter movies.   We also saw recreational facilities for the students.  The campus was simply so huge and they even had a bowling alley on it.

We next visited a Seatle's landmark Space Needle and enjoyed looking around the city from its observatory deck. It was a little cold that day, but we enjoyed the beautiful view from up there. The observatory deck was renovated a few years ago, and we can now enjoy looking down the scenery below through the glass floor. The view was just awesome.

After we had lunch at a food court in Armory near Space Needle, we took a monorail and went to the central area in Seattle. We went to the Made in Washington store, the first store of Starbucks Coffee, and the famous
Pike Place Market . We spent a couple of hours looking around the area, buying some souvenirs including a matching T-shirt.

We also visited T-Mobile Park , which is Seattle Mariners' home statidum, and dropped by the Mariners' store. We were happy to get Ichiro's T-shirt for a very reasonable price.

Our final stop was at Uwajimaya, a Japanese grocery store, and we made a little shopping for our host families or friends and families in Japan.

We totally enjoyed the whole tour under very good weather that day.
