DAY 01: 2/15 (Thurs.)
cloudy with shower, later sunny
Arrival, and Full Day Excursion
We arrived at Seattle International Airport a little after 09:30 a.m. and met Mrs. Alissa Frederick, our teacher guide for our program. We then started on a full day excursion in a car. The weather was not very friendly, with a low temperature, but we were excited to look around the State of Washington anyway.
We first visited Boehm's Chocolate Factory. It was our very first experience visiting a chocolate factory, and it was interesting to see how chocolate was made. As it was just the day after St. Valentine's Day, the store was almost empty, but there were still a lot of pretty boxes of chocolate. It was simply fun to look around.
We next visited Snoqualmie Falls and the pretty gift shop nearby. It was very cold when we visited there, so it was a little hard to smile at the camera.
Our next stop was a shopping mall called "The Outlet Collection." We had lunch at the food court, and as we had heard, the food was huge! A piece of pizza was literally twice as large as the one we buy in Japan, or even larger! We spent the afternoon looking around the huge shopping mall. We even played pingpong there.
Around 4:00 p.m., our car reached the parking lot of the study center, and there we met our host families and left for our American home.
