Visit Local Retirement Home, and Have Cooking Lesson 

It was Presidents' Day, and Rin enjoyed a full day with her host family. The rest of us visited a local retirement home, GenCare Lifestyle, in the morning. There were over 80 residents in the facility, and we met 10-15 of them during our two-hour stay. We first sang them a Japanese kids' song with gestures and then spent the rest of the time talking with the residents. We really enjoyed talking with them because they asked us a lot of questions and shared their own experiences too. We simply had a great time.

We had a cooking class at the study center in the afternoon. Alissa taught us how to bake apple pie. We read the recipe Alissa showed us and followed her directions step by step. And yes, it was done pretty well. Yummy!
