Sayonara Party Preparation, and Sayonara Party

This was our last day at the study center, and we were planning to have the Sayonara Party in the evening.  We stayed at the study center all day long, spending the day finishing our memory journals and photo frames for our own host families as well as practicing for our presentation for the party. We even spent some time doing our last-minute shopping at the nearby TARGET , and ate pizza for early supper.

The party started a little after 6:00 p.m., and all the host families were invited.  We all got dressed in yukata (casual kimono for summer), and started the party by showing our presentation about "Setsubun," which is the day before the beginning of spring. We each then gave the journals, the magnets, and the photo frames to our host families in turn. We finally had some cake that Alissa baked, and we enjoyed talking with each other. It was a very good party!
