DAY 01: 2/19 (Thurs.)
cloudy
Arrival and First Day Excursion

We arrived at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport around 09:00 a.m. and met our teacher guide, Mrs. Laura Campbell. We immediately set off on a full-day excursion. Excited to explore the State of Washington, we kept our eyes peeled, taking in everything as we traveled.

Our first stop was Denny’s for lunch. Just as we had learned in Japan, the portions were enormous, so we decided to share our meals. Everything was delicious.

Next, we visited Boehm’s Chocolate Factory . Laura showed us around, and it was fascinating to see chocolate-making process. Since it was just a week after Valentine’s Day, the shop was quiet, but we loved looking at the beautifully decorated gift boxes.

We also visited the breathtaking Snoqualmie Falls , a charming gift shop, a massive timber, an old train station, and a local mall. Everything felt so new and exciting!

Finally, our car arrived at the study center -- a local church -- where we met our host families and headed off to our American home.
