DAY 08: 2/26 (Thurs.)
sunny
Visit Leavenworth

We had a full-day excursion to Leavenworth, a Bavarian-style village in central Washington. We piled into a car driven by Saki's host father, Will, and left early in the morning.

After a nearly three-hour drive, we stopped by a local glass factory. The artist gave us a fascinating talk about her work, and the glass pieces were stunning.

When we finally reached the village, we were greeted by charming German-style buildings and shops. After a quick lunch at McDonald's, we spent the rest of the day exploring and shopping. We visited all sorts of interesting places, including a Christmas shop, a candy store, and a toy store, where we bought souvenirs for ourselves and our families in Japan.

We spent the whole day browsing the shops. Misaki, Rio, and Saki, who bought quite a few souvenirs, even received a free piece of glass art as a gift! It was a wonderful day from start to finish.
