Host Family
The Tuttle Family
Maria Maria is a cheerful and kind mother. She always cared about me. She always seemed to be busy with her job and school. She is a good cook. She made meals we requested. |
John John is a kind father. John didn't live with the family. I couldn't take a picture with him. He still came to meet me at the airport. When we had an event, he came to our house. |
Malachi Malachi is a grandson of Maria and John. His parents go to school, and he lives away from his parents. I usually played with him. He is full of vigor. |
Yuni Yuni is a student from Korea. She is like a considerate sister for me. When I stayed in America, she always encouraged me. She taught me some English too. She likes Japan, and we talked about Japanese actors. We often went to school together. |
Sue Sue is a student from Myanmar. She arrived in Seattle on the same day as me. She is like a cheerful and kind sister. When I had the orientation at GRC, she was together with me. |
Anne Anne is a student from Denmark. She is interested in fashion. She came to Seattle for a one-month program. I often came home with her. |
Our residential area was a quiet place, so I felt relaxed at home. There were a bathroom and a room for me in the house. My room had a good study desk, so I was able to focus on studying. I took a shower early at night because taking a shower at midnight is bothering for everyone. Maria made breakfast for me. When I had time in the morning, I often ate brunch at home. The students staying at the Tuttles came home at different time of the day, so Maria made dinner for each. While I was eating, I talked with Maria, so I didn't feel lonely. Occasionally I ate with my roommates. Maria bought some food for us, so we were able to eat our favorite food. I often came home by myself. I walked about 30 minutes from the bus stop to my home. Occasionally Maria picked me up at the bus stop. When I had a chance, I came home together with my roommates. My host family allowed me to put my friends up at home freely, but I always told Maria about it when necessary. I didn't come home late because my host family slept early. My family are cheerful. We had many women at home, so the conversation became lively. I enjoyed talking with them every day. |
