Halloween

Halloween was the most special day of all the events that I had. We joined the Halloween party which GRC held. I also looked around my neighborhood with my host family and roommates, and we got candies and chocolates. My host sisters and I painted a picture on a pumpkin. They had Halloween stores during the time of Halloween only, so I went there many times with my host family. There were a lot of costumes and decorations in the stores.

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving is the holiday in November. We ate a lot of food such as turkey, mashed potato and pumpkin pie. They were very delicious.

Christmas

Our house turned into Christmas color after Thanksgiving Day. When we were at home, we played Christmas songs as background music as well as singing them. Mike brought a real big tree home, and we decorated it. We exchanged gifts and ate breakfast which Mike made in the morning of Christmas.

Weekends

I played with my host sisters on the weekends. We especially enjoyed doing nails, dancing and making origami. I didn't dance in Japan because I was too shy, but I thought even if I couldn't understand English, I was able to communicate with my host sister through dancing. Clare liked making origami, so we did it together. I thought my speaking and listening ability improved by spending time with them. I often went shopping with my friends too. Hanging aroung with foreign friends was my favorite. I made good memories with them.

Trips

I traveled to Los Angeles, California with Naoko, Sayaka and Mizuka during the winter vacation. We made reservations for planes and hotels by ourselves. We went to Disneyland, Hollywood and Santa Monica. It was so fun. I also went shopping to Portland, Oregon.
